It’s back to the FA Cup and they are on a very good run, but all good runs have to come to an end sometime. So why not now?
COME ON YOU MIGHTY IRONSSSSSS'

Blimey, 5am touch on a Sunday morning sticking this up. Very impressed with the commitment Charley :-)

Not going to predict an outcome here as it may just depend on who goes for it more, or who could do without it more, likely to be a close game though.

Thanks, Charley!

We could be on for the TREBLE - Euro Conference, FA Cup and Relegation Avoidance.

For Man Utd this game is sandwiched in between games vs Barcelona and Liverpool and the Carabao cup final, all in a period of 10 days. Seems likely that they'll put out a much weakened side, not that Moyes will probably take advantage of it.

Can see Moyes resting quite a few. Most likely go with a back 3.

Shame we are not comfortable in the league as with a full strength side this would be very winnable.

As said below, Man U have other priorities so will probably have similar mind set.

He can still put out an experienced side starting likes of Areola, Kehrer, Cresswell (not at LB), Emerson, Fornals, Lanzini, Scamacca and Antonio.

It's quite gutting that we arrive at this having to rest players.

I just think we should treat it as a free hit and go for it whatever our line up though. But not too hopeful.

Cheers Moyes

fraser - We have a big enough squad to put a good side out regardless, and to be fair to Moyes he has generally gave the cups a good go, apart from that disgrace at Arsenal a few years ago we have gave the games a good go by memory? I'm not expecting the white flag to be raised here.

This game, alongside the Brighton away and Larnaca away in my opinion would be a good time for Moyes to rotate and build some confidence and form across the squad. The likes of Zouma and Cornet could use the game out in Cyprus as a rebuild of fitness with the bonus of having a second leg too.
We should have more than enough for them and the Man united game would be a good time to bring back in the likes of fornals and Lanzini so they can get themselves into some sort of form.
10-15 minutes from the bench once every 2 weeks won't help but with the games stacking up, we are going to need everyone available.

Manuel - I'm not expecting the white flag either, I just feel we could have gone full strength at it if not for our abysmal league form this season.

Well yes, but that's an argument for another day (thread)

To be honest what is full strength anyway, a lot of players in the same positions are of similar quality, so don't think will make much difference in terms of chances.

The team has just had one game at home of football with the shackles loosened from having to play without the ball. This game is the perfect game to see how this works away from home where we need to find a way to wins to stay up.

It’s called playing yourself into form….

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
I agree side,

I think he could rotate the squad though and give a run out to the likes of Fornals, Lanzini, Scamacca and half an hour for Cornet if available
If we win happy days and again breeds confidence, lose and we can then focus on the task of staying up

He stumbled across a good formation and style yesterday, he can easily stick with that, just a change of personnel and like you say, play into a bit of form and consistency, the only worry is that he will revert to type, play defensively and take the sting out of our tails like he has form for doing

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Yep, and I agree with that Steve the important thing with this game is to get us playing with some intent to score from the first whistle away from home….I’m not saying we should go full on at them, just find a way to show some decent opposition we are not there to sit back.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
Laughable - those bit part players (Scamacca aside) are not playing in one of the worst teams in the division for a reason - they are shit or finished.
Cornet woeful anyway - complete waste of dosh and will breakdown again.
New manager and massive rebuild required.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
I’m no Moyes apologist but some fair perspective is required. The bloke can’t win. When we lose, play badly, it’s all on him. Yesterday’s victory was because he ‘stumbled upon’ a winning formula. In general, I think he panicked with some poor results early doors, alongside some unfortunate injuries. This dictated a more defensive, careful, low risk - and dull set up. But even though I accept his responsibility in our poor form this season, I see some mitigating circumstances - and also some credit due for the few times things have gone right.
